INDEPENDENT TRAVELLERS
Applicable for parties of 9 or less passengers, for Moore Reef Day Tour or Fitzroy Island Transfers
Booking & payment methods
Bookings can be made with Sunlover reservations team as follows:
- Over the phone +617 4050 1333. Payment to be made over the phone by credit card, either at the time of booking or 24 hours prior to travel.
- Via email res@sunlover.com.au. Payment to be by the return of a completed credit card authority form at the time of booking.
- In person at our desk at the Reef Fleet Terminal, payment to be made at the time of booking with cash or credit card.
- Via Sunlover’s website (www.sunlover.com.au). Payment to be made at the time of booking. Payment is to be made on the passengers credit card, which may be subject to booking fees, and the credit card used must be presented at check in on the day of tour for verification purposes.
- With a trusted Sunlover trade partner.
Cancellation
A full refund will be offered to customer requested cancellations up until 24 hours prior to travel, cancellations made within 24 hours of travel will result in a 100% cancellation charge. This includes no-shows. Cancellation charges may be waived at the discretion of management if the cancellation is a result of:
- ill health (medical certificate may be required)
- minor changes to number of guests travelling
- rescheduling within reason
Should Sunlover be required to cancel or the operation of the tour for any reason, including on the rare occasions due to inclement weather, an alternative date or itinerary will be offered to the passenger. If the alternative date or itinerary cannot be arranged or agreed upon, a full refund of all monies paid to Sunlover Reef Cruises will be authorised. If the passenger accepts the alternative date or itinerary, no refunds will be issued.
If the booking was made through a third party agent the passenger may be required to contact their agent for a refund and a refund is at the descresion of the agent.
On occasion and for factors outside Sunlover’s control various included elements of the tour may regrettably not be in operation, this may include but not limited to Glass Bottom Boat and/or Semi-Submersible tours, waterslide, marine biologist presentations etc. One these rare occasions and when the majority of the tour can operate no refund on the full day tour will be offered.
Some package tours operate in conjunction with other tour operators and Sunlover acts as an agent for these companies. Conditions and cancellation policies for these tours are subject to operating conditions of these companies.

LOCALS RATE
- Applies to residents of Cardwell to Cooktown, Queensland
- ID verification is required on check-in
- Subject to availability and weather conditions
- Reservations are non-transferrable
- Discount does not apply to ad-ons, helicopter or photo packages
- Discount only applies to pre-bookings
- On board purchases are not subject to a Locals discount
- 2nd child free promo does not apply
- Cannot be combined with any other offer

BOOKING REQUIREMENTS
Making a booking
When making your booking please advise:
- booking Name, contact phone number, email address
- number of adults (16+yrs), children (4-15yrs) and infants (0-3yrs) travelling
- any valid concession cards
- any dietary requirements
- if you require hotel accommodation transfers (additional cost)
- add any optional extra activity bookings (additional cost), or
- advise Sunlover of anything else that may be pertinent to your booking.
Reconfirmation
All bookings are to be reconfirmed 24 hrs before travel. At the time of reconfirmation please advise:
- name and ages of all passengers travelling
- number of adults (16+yrs), children (4-15yrs) and infants (0-3yrs) travelling
- any dietary requirements
- if you require hotel accommodation transfers (additional cost)
- add any optional extra activity bookings (additional cost), or
- advise Sunlover of anything else that may be pertinent to your booking.
PAYMENTS
Credit Card surcharges apply as follows
- 1.5% Visa or Mastercard
For credit card security and anti-fraud purpuses, we ask all guests to have the credit card the payment was processed on with them to present for verification to Sunlover staff at check in.
Pricing valid between: 01/04/2024 -31/03/2025
Purchased Gift Certificates
The Purchased Gift Certificate is issued in exchange for monetary value and is intended for use as a payment method for goods or services provided by Sunlover Reef Cruises Pty Ltd.
The Purchased Gift Certificate has an expiration date of three years from the purchase date (ACL, 1 Nov 2019) and can be redeemed at any time, subject to the availability of goods or services.
The Purchased Gift Certificate is non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash or any other form of currency.
If the value of the Purchased Gift Certificate exceeds the total purchase amount, the remaining balance will be stored and can be used for future transactions.
Lost or stolen Purchased Gift Certificates will not be reissued or refunded. It is the responsibility of the voucher holder to keep the voucher secure.
Gifted Prize Voucher
The Gifted Prize Voucher is issued as part of a promotional giveaway and is unavailable for purchase.
The Gifted Prize Voucher may be subject to specific terms and conditions associated with the promotion during which it was awarded.
The Gifted Prize Voucher has an expiration date, as indicated on the voucher, and must be redeemed before the specified date. After the expiration date, the voucher will be considered null and void.
The Gifted Prize Voucher is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or any other currency.
Management reserves the right to determine the validity of the Gifted Prize Voucher and may refuse redemption at its discretion, particularly over peak periods or during special events.
Lost or stolen Gifted Prize Vouchers will not be reissued or refunded. It is the responsibility of the voucher holder to keep the voucher secure.
Management Discretion
Management reserves the right to modify or amend these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice.
The discretion of management extends to the redemption of Gifted Prize Vouchers, especially during peak periods, holidays, or special events.
Management’s decision regarding the eligibility and redemption of Gifted Prize Vouchers is final and binding.
By redeeming and using the Purchase Gift Certificate or Gifted Prize Voucher, the certificate/voucher holder acknowledges and agrees to abide by these terms and conditions. These terms are subject to change, and it is the responsibility of the voucher holder to review them periodically.
GENERAL
Sunlover Operations Pty Ltd is trading as Sunlover Reef Cruises, ABN 50 109 735 177.
All bookings are subject to availability.
By proceeding with booking, passengers agree to all Sunlover Reef Cruises Terms and Conditions, and Conditions of Passage.
Rates quoted by Sunlover are inclusive of Goods & Services Tax (GST).
Rates are inclusive of Environmental Management Tax (EMC).
Rates are subject to change without notice due to any changes in/or imposition of government charges, taxies or levies, at the discretion of Sunlover Operations Pty Ltd.
There may be instances where Sunlover are unable due to unforeseen circumstances to offer a product or selection of products within our included or optional activities. We do not offer refunds for this instance and make every effort to have our full product offering available to our passengers.

No Smoking or Vaping: Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited on all Sunlover Reef Cruises vessels and at our facilities, including onboard areas, snorkelling platforms, and designated activity zones.

Enforcement: Our crew is trained to enforce this policy and will kindly remind guests of our smoke and vape-free environment. We appreciate your cooperation in following this policy.

Support: We understand that quitting smoking or vaping can be challenging. For guests needing support, we offer resources and information on smoking cessation programs.

CHECK-IN
MOORE REEF
Check-in & collection of boarding passes must be completed 08:30 – 09:30 at the Sunlover Cruises desk inside the Reef Terminal at Cairns Marina (located corner of Spence St & Pier Point Road). Passengers failing to check-in by 09:30 may miss final boarding.
*Boarding will be denied without a valid boarding pass and passengers failing to present by close of check-in may miss the tour.
FITZROY ISLAND
Check-in & collection of boarding passes must be completed 07:30 – 08:30 at the Sunlover Cruises desk inside the Reef Terminal at Cairns Marina (located corner of Spence St & Pier Point Road). Passengers failing to check-in by 08:30 may miss final boarding.
*Boarding will be denied without a valid boarding pass and passengers failing to present by close of check-in may miss the tour.
REEF& FITZROY ISLAND IN A DAY
Check-in & collection of boarding passes must be completed 07:00 – 07:30 at the Sunlover Cruises desk inside the Reef Terminal at Cairns Marina (located corner of Spence St & Pier Point Road). Passengers failing to check-in by 07:30 may miss final boarding.
*Boarding will be denied without a valid boarding pass and passengers failing to present by close of check-in may miss the tour.
If you have used a credit card to purchase your ticket for either Moore Reef or Fitzroy Island directly from Sunlover Reef Cruises via our website, email, or phone please have this card present along with a matching valid photo ID of the cardholder at check-in.
ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES
Minimum age and medical conditions apply as per PADI regulations for Sea Walker, Introductory and Certified diving.
Guests are advised to review the medical requirements with their booking agent prior to booking or on the Sunlover Cruises website, as no refunds are given for failed medicals on board.
Passengers wishing to partake in these optional activities must be a minimum of 12 years old, and passengers aged under 18 years old must have a consenting parent or legal guardian with them. Medical clearance from a doctor is required for participants aged 65 years and over.
Certified Divers must present an internationally recognized dive license on the day of travel.
Snorkelling
For any un-returned or damaged snorkelling equipment, a fee equal to the current replacement value for the un-returned/ damaged snorkelling equipment will be payable at the end of the tour.
SCUBA diving (introductory or certified) & Seawalker helmet diving, (Moore Reef)
These optional activities are subject to medical checklist.
Guests are advised to review the medical requirements with their booking agent prior to booking, as no refunds are given for failed medicals on board.
Passengers wishing to partake in these optional activities must be a minimum of 12 years old, and passengers aged under 18 years old must have a consenting parent or legal guardian with them.
Snorkeling
For any un-returned or damaged snorkelling equipment, a fee equal to the current replacement value for the un-returned/ damaged snorkelling equipment will be payable at the end of the tour.
Paddleboarding & Kayaking (Fitzroy Island)
Passengers wishing to partake in these optional activities must be a minimum of 12 years old, and passengers aged under 18 years old must have a consenting parent or legal guardian with them.
Moderate swimming ability is required. Not suggested for non-swimmers.
Partaking in these activities is at your own risk. Sunlover is not responsible for any injury during this optional experience.
Helicopter
All Helicopter Flights are operated by Nautilus Aviation Pty Ltd subject to their terms & conditions which may differ to Sunlover Cruises (including below).
- Individual body weight of each passengers required at time of booking
- Infants aged 0 – 2 years. Routinely one (1) infant (under 3 years of age) is permitted per flight and may travel free of charge when seated on a parent’s/guardians lap with an aviation infant seat belt restraint (provided).
- Children aged 3 – 12 years (inclusive) must occupy their own paid seat in the helicopter
- 13 years + adult fare applies for helicopter
- Cancellation of helicopter flights requires 48 hours notice for full refund, 50% applies for up to 24 hours & non refundable less than 24 hours
Hotel Transfers
All hotel transfers are conducted by Excellence Coaches at an additional cost per passenger in accordance with their terms and conditions which may differ to Sunlover Cruises.
Please be waiting outside reception your accommodation to meet the driver, passengers whom miss their transfer will be required to make their own alternate arrangements. (Transfer fees are non-refundable).
Special Dietary
Refers to advising of any food allergies such as Shellfish, nuts, etc, or the requirement for Gluten Free or Vegan options. It does not infer requests for meals not included on the buffet, menu with the included options is available on the Sunlover Cruises website.

- Accepts no responsibility or liability for any direct or indirect loss or damage of any kind. This disclaimer of liability applies irrespective of the cause, including whether or not such damage or loss is due to negligence on the part of Sunlover Reef Cruises or the withdrawal, cancellation or failure to provide a service, delay or any variation in services provided or the provision of substitute services.
- Does not own or operate the helicopter or photo services that are offered to our reef visitors. When using these services you are contracting with the service operator and are subject to the conditions imposed by those operators.
- On occasion the tropical weather conditions can cause cancellations and or changes to schedules and activities. Sunlover reserves the right to vary prices, schedules, vessels and any activities without notification. Any tickets issued are non-refundable.
- Acts as a private carrier and reserves the right to refuse passage to any person and/or baggage.
- Bringing alcohol on the vessel is prohibited at all times.
- All bags and luggage may be subject to a search.
- Aggressive or abusive behavior towards staff or other passengers at any point of the tour will not be tolerated.
- By accepting these “Conditions of Passage” and travelling with Sunlover Reef Cruises, the purchaser accepts and acknowledges that embarking on this cruise vessel is at his or her own risk, and that you accept these terms and conditions.
FARE TYPES
Adult: Passengers 16 years of age or older at the time of travel.
Children: Passengers between 4-15 (inclusive) years of age at the time of travel.
Infants: Passengers up to 3 years old (inclusive) at the time of travel.
Family: Discounted fares may apply for selected products, specifically valid for 2 adults + 2 children.
*Due to Aviation regulations for packages including Helicopter flights the Infant age is 0-2 years & child 3-13 years. (Fare payable for helicopter component only).
