We've been taking people to this reef for a long time.
Sunlover Reef Cruises operates daily from Cairns to Moore Reef and Fitzroy Island, with a permanently moored pontoon on the outer reef, inside the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area. Our guests are families, school groups, divers and inbound tour groups, and a significant share of them reach us through partners.
We're an Ecotourism Australia certified operator and a Hall of Fame member, and we participate in the Tourism Reef Protection Initiative. If you need detail on any of that for a client, a brief or an article, it's below.
One line worth using in your own copy: the Great Barrier Reef was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1981 and is listed against all four of UNESCO's natural criteria — a distinction very few properties on earth hold. Please don't reproduce the World Heritage emblem; the words are free to use, the emblem is not.

Tell us what you're working on
Press enquiries, interviews, fact-checking, imagery, footage and famil requests all go to our marketing team. Monitored Monday to Friday during business hours, and answered directly rather than through a general inbox.
- What the story is A line or two is plenty — it tells us who should answer.
- Your outlet and your deadline If it's tight, say so in the first line and we'll prioritise it.
- What you need from us A quote, a fact checked, imagery, footage, or a place on a famil.
If you need imagery, describe the story rather than asking for the library — we'll send what's actually relevant.
Email the marketing teamWe work with a small number of creators each year
The collaborations that work are the ones where your audience genuinely overlaps with ours. That's families, first-time reef visitors, divers, and people who care how the reef is looked after.
- An audience that overlaps with ours
- A clear idea of what you'd create
- Where and when it would be published
- Dates that suit reef conditions, not just your calendar
Before you send it
Every proposal is read by our media team. A complimentary or hosted experience isn't guaranteed, and we can't reply to every submission individually — we'll be in touch if there's a fit. Proposals without audience detail or proposed deliverables won't progress.
